Clayton Grassick - longtime financial supporter of MCC

Dear MCC Board Members,

We have been faithful financial supporters of MCC for at least 15 years. However, in light of MCC’s response to abuse allegations, we have since redirected our support to other organizations.

I’ve had the opportunity to see some of the details of MCC’s response to these allegations and I've been shocked and disappointed time and again at the MCC’s obfuscation and heel-dragging. An organization that loudly declares its innocence but then fully settles moments before being heard in court is not acting with the standard of integrity that I’d expect.

Worse, a pattern of abuse has emerged. As an organization, it’s risky and frightening to hand an investigation off to a neutral and credible external investigator who could shine a unflattering light on years of practices, but it’s ultimately the best way forward.

And so, I call on MCC to commit to a full and independent investigation into this matter, with a public report and with victims having full approval of both the investigator and scope.

So many religious organizations have chosen the route of minimization, deflection, or NDAs when faced with abuse allegations. MCC has a chance now to choose integrity and transparency.
